This page covers panoptical.com — the marketing site you are reading. Customers of the Panoptical product are covered by the data protection terms in their agreement, which are more specific than this and take precedence over it.

What this site collects

Nothing, on every page except /demo. There is no analytics script, no advertising pixel, and no tracking tag anywhere on this site. The three typefaces are served from our own origin rather than from a font CDN, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you were here.

Your colour theme preference is stored in your own browser’s local storage under the key panoptical-theme. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.

The one third party: Cal.com

The booking calendar on /demo is an embedded Cal.com page, so opening that page loads a script and an iframe from Cal.com and they will see your IP address and browser. That is the only third-party request this site makes, and it is on that one page. If you would rather not load it, the same calendar is linked as an ordinary page beneath the embed, and hello@panoptical.com reaches a person directly.

When you book, we receive from Cal.com:

• your name and email address;
• the answers to whatever questions the booking form asks;
• the time you chose, and your time zone.

We use it to hold the call and to prepare the walkthrough. We do not sell it, we do not add you to a marketing list without asking, and we do not share it with anyone outside the company except Cal.com and the mail provider that delivers the confirmation. Cal.com’s own handling of it is governed by their privacy policy.

Bills of materials

If you send a bill of materials ahead of a demo, it is used for that demo and deleted within thirty days unless you ask us to retain it. It is never used to train anything, and it is never shown to another customer. This is the part of the policy we expect you to care about most, and we would rather state it plainly than bury it.

How long we keep things

Booking records are retained for two years so we know we have already spoken to you, then deleted. Server logs are retained for thirty days. If you ask us to delete your record sooner, we will, and we will confirm when it is done.

Your choices

Email hello@panoptical.com to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. There is no form for this and no account required — a plain email is enough, and a person will answer it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with information we already hold, we will email everyone affected rather than quietly changing the date at the top.
